Would you check out all that delicious looking grass I’m feeding my cows instead of humans. Yup, all those human mouths that could be fed with hay instead of wasting it on animals.
I know, I know, we could plant soy in those fields. Why grow nutrient dense animal foods on grasses we can’t consume when we can grow craptastic, anti-nutrient-rich things that strip away our topsoil, destroy biodiverse ecosystems, are mostly destined to big food processors to refine and process so that we may feast on depleted, disease causing foods?
Yeah, let’s do that instead.
It’s so dumb to let animals eat what we can’t, transforming the inedible to the nutrient dense, easily absorbable stuff of life. Why do that? No monolithic corporations get rich there and the sole purpose of life on planet earth today is to be a dutiful consumer. Let’s all do our part for Mother Kraft and General Mills.
Although, I suppose, we may have to contend with the fact that it’s been estimated that planet earth has *maybe* 60 harvests worth of topsoil left. Guess chemical fertilizers weren’t the panacea they thought? Nah, that can’t be it because the “plant centred” say fertilizing with manure is bad so… So, what then?
Meh, my brain is starting to explode. I’m going back to flaking hay in the centre of my bovine universe a.k.a. the hay feeder. There’s truth here and my company makes a lot more sense.
