Sunbathing with my homegirl.
Honestly, why these Turkey hens like me so much, I do not know.
About ten years ago now, I started suffering with the symptoms of Lyme disease. I’m quite certain I contracted it years earlier, while in the military. Since then, it’s been a long, windy road, trying to figure out how to heal what can be healed and nurture what needs tending to, but probably won’t be the same again. The sun has been one of my biggest allies in that healing.
I just cringe at the fear that’s being propagated by so called health authorities about the dangers of the sun. Absolute rubbish. Go beyond the headlines, question “truths”. Why is the sun suddenly dangerous? Why were humans designed to need the sun for integral life functions and yet, it’s dangerous? Look into how our diets, when they went from a heavy reliance on saturated fats from healthy, pastured animals to those filled with toxic vegetable fats, and how that affects how our skin interacts with the sun’s rays. It’s fascinating stuff.
I guess if you’re subsisting on GMO canola oil and white bread, the added load of chemical creams to block out the myriad of nutrients the sun provides (vitamin D being just one of them), is prudent. But, if you really want healing, look into deep nutrition, animal fats, heliotherapy, traditional diets, the facts on sugars (yes, honey and maple syrup are sugar), all that good stuff. The sun is my goddess and I am her ever grateful admirer, unworthy of the gifts of healing she bestows upon me with such generosity. 🌞
